The Game Theorists

Image result for Game theoryHello Internet, and welcome to.... my YouTube blog.  That's right today we are going to be reviewing Game Theory.  This channel is run by Matthew Patrick, or as his loyal theorists call him, MatPat.  He sometimes shares this channel with another creator, The Science.  MatPat is my favorite YouTuber and his YouTube channel is about (you guessed it) theories.  His theories are not conspiracy theories like Shane Dawson.  His theories on this channel revolve around video games.  Some of my favorite Game Theories are about:

1.  Petscop
Petscop is a game that does not actually exist.  Someone posted a "Let's Play" of this video game on to YouTube, and it has frightened many viewer.  This game looks simple and cute on the surface but, at some point during the game the layout changes to a darker more sinister plot.  During the game the player encounters "dead children, disfigured sprites, [...] and a haunted, cursed game capable of acting on its own."  MatPat's theory on this is one of his best.  He watched all of the Let's Plays on this "game" and constructs a theory based on real world events.  Matthew truly shows off his skills on this game.

2. Undertale
Undertale is an indie game developed by Toby Fox.  This is a game beloved by many gamers, and is probably one of the most played games by game channels.  Matthew's theories mainly revolve around who W.D. Gaster.  Matthew has done as many as 12 theories for this game, and they all increasing get even better and more interesting.  Although he has done most about Gaster, he has also done some about Sans and the player's character, Frisk.  Undertale is about a world underground where monsters have been forced to hide, but has been discovered when Frisk falls into their world.

3. Five Nights at Freddy's
This is the most popular of MatPat's theories.  This is an indie that was created by Scott Cawthon.  Since its creation it has become very popular with six cannon games, four books, and other side games.  Matthew has 23 videos about this series of video games, with the most popular video racking in 22 million views.  He has had Cawthon even respond to some of his theories.  These theories are his most creative and thought provoking.  They show his true talent as a theorist.

Shane

Hey what's up you guys, yes!  Today I'm going to be reviewing the YouTube channel Shane.  The man behind the channel is Shane Dawson.  Shane's channel has over 20 million subscribers with 1.7K videos.  Shane is most notably known for his docuseries and conspiracy theories.  Some of my favorite videos by him are:

1.  Conspiracy Theories with Shane Dawson  (January 30, 2019)
In this video Shane addresses many conspiracy theories about all sorts of topics.  Some in this video are Apple iPhones, subliminal messages in children's tv, and the California wild fires.

2. 73 Questions With Shane Dawson | Vogue Parody (November 20, 2017)
Around this time many people were being approached by Vogue to do a 73 questions video.  Shane noticed this and decided that, since he wouldn't be asked, he would do a parody video of it in one take.  In the process of the video he switches the questions to his friends to make an overall hilarious video for viewers to enjoy.

3.  TRYING DUMB SUMMER LIFE HACKS (May 30, 2017)
This video was before he changed his branding and Shane posted a video every ay from Monday-Friday.  In this video, as you could guess, he tests summer life hacks.  He freezes his shirt, applies sunscreen with a pool noodle and he makes a float out of chip bags.

Some of his recent Docuseries are:

1.  The Mind of Jake Paul
In this docuseries Shane dives into the world of Team 10.  He tries to determine if Jake Paul is a sociopath.  He finds out secrets about the rumors going around Team 10 and all the members.  He also interviews former members to get their thoughts and opinions.

2. The Secret World of Jeffree Star
Shane interviews Jeffree Star and learns how he earns his money and makes a living other than his YouTube channel.  He also learns about Jeffree Star's early days and his dark past.

3. Is My YouTube Channel Dying
This is the docuseries that rebranded his channel.  He visited Grav3yardgirl and helped her rebrand her own channel.  She had been struggling with views and subscribers on her channel for a while, so Shane went to visit and help.

4. The Truth About Tanacon
Tanacon was the event that caused an uproar in the YouTube community.  There were many promises that Tana Mongeau made and broke.  She decided to host her own event in response to vidcon.  Many people bought tickets and waited in line in the scorching heat for the event to be shut down.  This was one of the worst YouTube flops of the year, and Shane decided to find all the real reasons this happened and get all sides of the story.
